'Ian Anderson / TDR™ Come Home To Croydon' (COME ON SUCK SOME ZERMATT ACTION) Catalogue
So… Why did we feel the need to interrupt your otherwise boring existence?
In 2011, in the slipstream of preparing for TDR™'s massive C(H—)ome (to Tokyo) retrospective extravaganza, Croydon HEC's Parfitt Gallery approached TDR™ to have fun in their space. All retrospectives out in the wake of the GGG Tokyo show, we decided to let rip on a budget and just download what was bursting out right there right then.
Riffing on the 'Coming home' theme of the GGG show, parts of the Parfitt show deliberately referenced the fact that Ian Anderson was actually born in Croydon, and therefore the work represented another kind of coming home in a different city.
For almost as long as TDR™ have been planning / promising a book, there's been a parallel desire to produce a regular TDR™ fanzine, or communication of some sort. So many ideas, so little time…
Given free-reign to rule the standard Parfitt gallery catalogue, TDR™ 'Suck Some Zermatt Action' has become the blueprint for TDR™'s OO-AAH TDR™ Sacred Texts B-sides Rarities work-in-progress book — a fanzine / scrapbook crushed with what keeps us up all in night and never sees the light of day.
