£50.00 / Sold Out

TDR™ vs Shop 33 (Tokyo)
1 of a series of 3 designs
circa 1998
last 3 shirts, recently unearthed at the storage unit
'new', but over 15 years old & so sold on an 'as seen' basis
'very good' condition

The shirts were originally designed as part of a Sheffield vs Tokyo set we made for Shop33 prior to opening The Peoples Bureau for Consumer Information store off Cat Street in Harajuku. The original set comprised the three M33/Population/Location posters plus the three Tees plus the TDR™ vs Shop33 mug all wrapped in a then current issue of the Sheffield Star.Throughout the 90s TDR™ and Shop33 built an exciting relationship which culminated in the opening of The Peoples Bureau For Consumer Information store in Harajuku, Tokyo. Akira and Tosh from Shop33 regularly commissioned original TDR™ designs (including Shop33's identity / instore design and their Rainbow 2000 festival merch etc) and exclusive TDR™ products only available in their Tokyo stores, as well as selling TDR™'s own self initiated swag. In 1998 we designed a Sheffield / Tokyo collection of 3 related designs based on the relative locations / population of, and distance between the two cities. A limited edition pack of three tees, three corresponding A3 prints, a TDR™ / Shop33 mug and sundry stickers etc sold exclusively via Shop33 in Japan came wrapped in copies of the Sheffield Star newspaper inspired by the fact that when we received gifts sent from Japanese fans, we were always more interested in the newspaper wrapping for design cues.

Numbers of the shirts and prints were sold separately. The Population design was printed on grey and black shirt colourways. Being made in Japan for the Japanese market smaller sizes had bigger runs which is reflected in our remaining stock. No reprints.
